Since the time Nauzy and I broke up, I managed to arrange a friends-with-benefits thing with this guy who lives in my building. I know what you mean. I told my girlfriend about my interest in hypnosis and had the same kind of response. Now since that moment I don't even know how to bring it back up again. I want to bring it up but when I do I start to get that nervous feeling in my chest and wuss out. Hopefully I grow a pair and bring it back up sooner than later.

A few years ago if a girl I was seeing told me she was into hypnosis and submission, I'd have had probably nearly had a heart attack, and have to excuse myself for a few minutes while I frigged myself senseless! lol
It's actually harder I think for a sub when you get that kind of reaction. As a Domme if I get a dispassionate response, I can suggest a demonstration, if they aren't interested before, chances are they will be by the time I'm finished... but as a sub, what do you do?
Vanilla is nice once in a while... but ultimate never as satisfying as the complex and exciting flavours available elsewhere.
