went to the Society last night, for the TNG invasion. I surprised myself and ended up having a blast-- haha, I mean, not that I expected to have a bad time, just that I didn't expect to leave as giddy as I did. XD
one thing I noticed, that I always notice when I'm at kink events, and then always forget about: the atmosphere of just... unabashed, joyful sexuality. Everyone, regardless of age or how they look or whatever, is accepted as a sexual person. and we're all cracking jokes about it, and talking about flogging is normal. it's something I don't experience often, but it's just so... so awesome.

And totally agreed on the kink event atmosphere. There's something really great about the fact that everyone there is admitting, through their presence, "Yes, I have a sex life, and there's more to it than missionary!" I often find it a striking comparison to vanilla parties and hang-outs where people talk about sex (sometimes so-called "weird" sex) constantly, but few or no people really cop to participating.
There's also the general openness about orientation and gender presentation, which kinda goes along with that atmosphere of sexuality.
So...yeah. I agree with the awesomeness. :)
