Bit of a rant, fishing for advice

I am terrible at hallucinations, and this really annoys me. The other day we were trying to get me to imagine I'm being fingered when he says a certain word (for very wicked play at whole foods, I'm sure ;). He put me under, gave me the suggestion, actually fingered me for reference, repeated the suggestion a few times, and woke me up.

Then we tested it, and... while I reacted strongly, I didn't feel anything. Really wierd, hard to describe. To a viewer, it sure looks like I feel like I'm being fingered, but I didn't feel like I was at all, though the urge to squirm around was somewhat uncontrollable. :p

Anyhow, just venting a bit. I'm sure it's a matter of practice or something.

It may be that he worded the suggestion poorly - you did say you were fairly literal in your interpretation/following of suggestions, right?

I'm literal enough, yeah, especially lately. We will try that and see how it goes; thanks!

No problem. It could be something as simple as him saying "you'll feel as if I'm fingering you" instead of "you'll feel me fingering you"; a very literal parsing of the former might result in what you're describing.

And hell, Nauzy can ask for feedback from your subconscious - he can put you under (waaay under) and ask why you didn't feel the actual fingering. Sometimes the direct approach is the best. :-)

I'd work my way up starting with smaller phantom sensations. The sensation of someone scratching your nose / tickling your feet / squeezing your nipples first maybe.

The sensation of being fingered I imagine is pretty vivid and unforgettable, and it's probably an effort to get the body to feel like that when the mind's had no practice at building up smaller sensations first.

He should hypnotize you to make more frequent blog posts about this stuff =P

I am bemused that my blog is so beloved. I'm working on it; elegant blag postings take time! I'd blog the day away if I had fewer responsibilities/ didn't need sleep. :p

Lex, of course; I should have thought of that! We will try it, thank you. :)
